10

Follow our recommendations to acheive the target EC

Choose your Feed Program

The water type will affect the amount of base nutrients that are required. When using RO (Reverse Osmosis) water or rain water, it is recommended to include ProCal in your nutrient program. If you are using water other than RO or Rain Water, choose Your Water below, and then measure the EC of of your water supply and enter it in.

Follow our recommendations to acheive the target EC

  • Electrical Conductivity (EC) is used in this calculator. See TDS/PPM conversion table below.
  • Plant Guard (Potassium Silicate) must be added to the nutrient feed tank first. Allow to diffuse before adding any other nutrients or additives.
  • Target EC has been calculated using RO water at 18° C. Tap water quality can vary and will raise the stated EC. The nutrient calculator will adjust the base nutrient values accordingly.
  • High intensity LED and/or CO2 environments can use up to 30% higher EC. High EC nutrients must be used with extreme caution.
  • Always maintain nutrient solution pH between 5.8 – 6.3 and temperature between 18 – 22° C.
  • Ensure a minimum 10% nutrient runoff for run to waste systems.
  • Measure EC of nutrient runoff. If the EC is 0.4 higher than recommended, either add water to the feed tank or flush the medium with a 1/3 strength, pH adjusted nutrient solution.
  • For plants grown in Coconut Coir adding ProCal to this feed program is highly recommended. Use at 1.25 mL/L.
